Dr Susan Wakenshaw is an assistant Professor and Discipline Group Lead in digital transformation at WMG, University of Warwick. With a strategic vision and leadership, Susan overseas the digital transformation group, guiding its direction. She manages both undergraduate and postgraduate modules within the discipline, covering the areas such as digital marketing, innovation and entrepreneurship, systems thinking and system engineering, technology management, business model generation, product development and design, lean operations, smart network manufacturing, Manufacturing Planning and Control for Cyber-Operafions, digital transformation. Susan is currently leading the development of MSc courses and programs centered on AI and digital transformation. She also heads on the digital marketing specialism in the MSc e-Business Management program. Prior to her current role, Susan worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at WMG , where she led research efforts on 11 EPSRC funded projects in domains like smart cities, digital economy, personal data, Internet of Things, Industry 4.0, privacy, digital innovation, supply chain integration. Susan’s academic journey includes positions at the University of Exeter, University of Cumbria, as well as teaching positions at Lancaster University and Newcastle University. Susan’s scholarly contributions primarily focus on areas such as marketing, Internet of Things, privacy, service systems. Presently, her research is concentrated on the ethical issues relating to domain specific applications of AI and AI in marketing, digital innovation, and digital servitization. Her expertise has also been thought by various companies seeking consultation such as Costain, Passport for life.
