Version 1.2: Updated 20 April 2026
Digital identity systems have largely been designed for individuals. Organisations, despite being central actors in commerce, governance, and regulation, still lack a coherent digital identity model. What currently exists are fragmented platform identities: one identity in accounting systems, another in banking infrastructure, another in cloud platforms, another in compliance systems. None of these represents the organisation itself in a durable and interoperable way.
The problem becomes more complex because organisations cannot act independently. Every organisational action is ultimately performed by an individual operating under delegated authority for a specific purpose. Organisational identity therefore cannot be separated from the purpose of authority and the accountable individual acting under that authority.
The Dataswyft Wallet addresses this structural problem by introducing a purpose-bound identity architecture built around badges, delegated authority, and self-custody data profiles — creating a digital identity framework that is portable, revocable, legally accountable, and aligned with how organisations actually operate.
